KANA CROISSANT
WEST COVINA HIGH SCHOOL ACCOMPANIST & CHOIR DIRECTOR SINCE 2023
Kana Croissant is a professional musician whose career spans work with numerous schools, musical productions, and performing arts organizations throughout Southern California. Originally from Nagano, Japan, she began her musical training with esteemed instructors in Nagano and Tokyo, studying classical piano with Michiko Takei, jazz piano with Mar, voice with Yuichi Narumi, and jazz vocal/theory with Henry Midorikawa.
In 2010, Kana relocated to Los Angeles to continue her studies at Citrus College and Azusa Pacific University. She trained with a wide range of distinguished professors, including Gino Munoz, Alan Waddington, Robert Slack, Catherine Ireland (voice), Cory Hirsch (piano), J. Michael O’Neal (jazz piano), and Mark Gasbarro (piano).
Kana has served as an accompanist at several schools and colleges, including California School of the Arts–San Gabriel Valley and Santa Ana College. She has also worked extensively as a music director, pit orchestra pianist, and conductor for a variety of local theater and school productions across Southern California.
Before officially joining the West Covina High School Choral Department in Fall 2022 as its full-time accompanist, Kana contributed to multiple WCHS productions, including How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Mamma Mia!, and the Choral Department’s 2022 POPs Concert. In Spring 2024, she became a certified staff member and now directs the non-auditioned Women’s Ensemble, Melodia, and the non-auditioned Men’s Ensemble, Harmonix. She also continues to serve as the accompanist for Wescovaire and Chorale, the department’s advanced and intermediate mixed ensembles.
Kana is deeply honored to be part of the WCHS Choral Department and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate daily with Tyler Wigglesworth, Director of Vocal and Choral Activities.
